How did nomads move their teepees?
First, they unwrapped the skin covering of the teepee, and bundled it up. They packed up floor mats and rugs, too. Then they tied the teepee poles together to make a big A-shaped frame, called a travois, and loaded the bundles on top. The heavy travois was pulled along by women or dogs as the nomads moved from one camp to the next.
