Termites are tiny creatures, no bigger than grains of rice. They live in the rainforests of Africa, Asia and South America, in huge groups, many millions strong. Some termites build tower-like nests on the forest floor, made of chewed-up wood, glued together with spit. Others build their nests in trees.
