The male lion is the biggest of the cat family, weighing about 528 lb (240 kg). Despite his size, he does little work, leaving the hunting and killing of his food, and the raising of cubs, to the lioness. Lions can sleep for up to 20 hours a day. All lions are on the list of endangered animals.
