Where do bats live?
Bats can be found all over the world, in Asia, Australasia, the Americas, Africa, and Europe. The only places bats would not be found are at the Poles. They live in a variety of habitats, such as buildings, caves, and forests. They often spend the nights in towns, searching for food, but will usually return to their roost before dawn. Loss of habitat is one of the main reasons why so many bat species, such as the Seychelles seath-tailed bat, and the cusp-toothed flying fox from the Solomon Islands, are endangered.
