Are badgers related to weasels?
Yes! Badgers are a member of the weasel family, and so are stoats. They are all mammals, but weasels and stoats are carnivorous, which means they eat only meat, whereas badgers are omnivorous, which means they eat plant food as well as meat. Badgers are protected by law because they were in danger of extinction in the mid-20th century, from badger baiting (where dogs are used to kill badgers for sport).
