Where do reptiles live?
Reptiles make their homes in all sorts of places - in deserts and forests, on plains, and in the water. Sea snakes and sea turtles live in the oceans. Crocodiles are always found near water, but usually in fresh water rivers and lakes. Many lizards, and some snakes, are good climbers and hunt for their prey in the branches of trees. Others burrow underground, often to escape from harsh weather. A few geckos and lizards make their homes in human houses. People often welcome them, because they eat insect pests.
