Which reptiles catch their food with their tongues?
Best-known of the tongue-catchers are the chameleons, which stalk insects in bushes and trees. When the chameleon is close enough, it opens its mouth slowly, slowly then suddenly shoots out its tongue, sometimes as much as 10 in (25 cm), and grabs the insect on its sticky tip in as little as ½s second!
