How do reptiles regulate their temperature?
They manage to keep at the best temperature, for their needs, by moving in and out of the sun and shade. As they bask in the sunshine they absorb the heat that they need for being active. Once they are active they create a little more heat. The leathery turtle, which is very active, is thought by some people to be partly warm-blooded, like a mammal.
