How does a baby reptile get out of its egg?
Before it hatches, a baby reptile grows a small, sharp bump on the end of its snout. This is called the "egg caruncle." When the little creature needs to break out of the egg, it twists its head from side to side and the caruncle breaks through the shell. Soon after this, the caruncle disappears.
