Foxes, such as the red fox, are hunting animals. They kill and eat small creatures, including rats, mice, and rabbits. But foxes are very adaptable they will eat more or less anything that comes their way, such as birds and birds' eggs, insects, and even fruit and berries. And more and more foxes in cities are feasting on our discarded food from garbage cans and compost heaps.
