Like domestic cats, lions are actually asleep for a surprisingly large part of the day. As many as 22 hours a day are spent resting and grooming. The rest of the time is taken up with looking for prey, hunting, and feeding. Lionesses do most of the hunting, but they share the catch with the rest of the pride.
