Apes are the most advanced animals in the primate group, which also includes animals such as lemurs, bush babies, and monkeys. There, are three families of apes. One includes all the different kinds of gibbons. The second contains the gorilla, chimpanzee, and orang-utan and the third has one species only-humans.
