Orangutans live in Southeast Asia in the rain forests of Sumatra and Borneo. This ape has long reddish fur and spends most of its life in the trees. Fruit is its main food but the orangutan also eats leaves, insects, and even eggs and small animals. The orangutan is active during the day. At night it sleeps on the ground or in a nest of branches in the trees.
