The spectacular hyacinth macaw of South America is one of the rarest birds in the rainforest. It is also the world's largest parrot. Unfortunately, so much of its rainforest home has been destroyed, and so many macaws have been captured, for zoos and the pet trade that this beautiful bird is now facing extinction.
