Which is the rarest rainforest animal?
So much of their forest home has been cleared to make space for coffee, rubber, and banana plantations that there may be fewer than 250 golden lion tamarins left in the wild. The last remaining tamarins live in a few patches of rainforest, along the Atlantic coast of Brazil. Efforts are being made to save the tamarins. If these fail, they could be extinct within just a few years.
